Our Spice Center in Tumacacori, Arizona is located in the heart of the historic Santa Cruz Valley. The Mission of San Jose de Tumacacori was founded first by the Jesuits in the 1690’s. The church, which still stands today, was built in the early 1800’s. The Presidio of San Ignacio de Tubac, the oldest of 3 Spanish military outposts, was established here after an Indian rebellion in 1751. By the late 1800’s the valley was dotted with ranches, and mining camps, dominated by dauntless cattlemen and prospectors.

Santa Cruz Chili & Spice Company is both a manufacturer and retailer of fine chili products. At our Spice Center in Tumacacori, Arizona we sell, along with Santa Cruz Products, a wide variety of gourmet Southwestern foods, cookbooks and a large selection of spices and herbs. We also have a quaint Western Museum documenting the rich history of the area.

This is the home of the Santa Cruz Chili & Spice Company. The business is small. It is family-owned. It is a source of pride. The chili products reflect the unique mixture of Mexican and Western cultures that are so much a part of the Santa Cruz Valley. The flavors are pure and authentic. They represent the valley’s rich heritage. You are invited to experience a part of the heritage; to share in its traditions. Bienvenidos.

We are located just north of exit 29 off of Interstate 19 on the East frontage road.

Drop by to see the museum artifacts, sample our unique chili pastes and sauces, find that spice you have been looking for or just soak up the rich history and heritage of this special land.
