Oregon produces 99 percent of the U.S. hazelnut crop. While representing just five percent of the world crop, Oregon hazelnuts have become the global benchmark for inshell excellence, recognized for their large size and distinctive flavor.
About 650 grower families on farms nestled along the length of the Willamette Valley from Roseburg into the State of Washington make up the growing community.
Ultimately, Oregon hazelnuts find there way into many countries in the world, with about 50% of the crop exported annually. The industry is in a growth mode, with new plantings every year.
